Black and white ink, pen & graphite pencils.

My inspiration for this begun after I was asked to do artworks for a band (Bleeding Tears), it kinda ran out in the sand. But my inspiration and ideas where still there and I liked the feeling in it a lot. So this is what turned out. It's not the character that I imagined for their artwork, but it's an inspiration of the mood.

You should really listen to their songs though, this is the song that inspired me, Bleeding Tears - Prelude into the Fear: [link]

This is wonderful on many levels!
I love the way it glows and the simplistic magnificence of the overall composition.

She looks like a lost, tragic spirit. You created a great ambiance with her luminescence and the brooding trees.

Thank you so much for the comment^^
I'm not sure what she is, but yes, probably something like that. I can imagine it is her pleading whispers you will hear in the wind between the trees at night.

This is a very interesting piece indeed, but I am especially fond of the technique. The 'scratched' texture in the trees seems almost scribbled yet creates a realistic presence when seen as a whole. The simple yet glowing figure looming in the dark forest. The surrounding values really make it pop off the cavas. It is dark in its atmosphere yet almost romantic and spiritual in its own mysterious way. I haven't heard the song yet but I will get around to it soon, I'm curious to know what inspired you. Fantastic work my friend.

It's like you are describing my inner mind, really, thank you!
I have fallen in love with this style just because it's, like you say, I almost scribble it out when I draw it, which I found very meditative. But as a whole it will look realistic enough, still with a very illustrated look. I'm very inspired by the golden age illustrations that you can see in storybooks and techniques such as etching. But as a realist from the beginning, I can't help but to put in a lot of shading done with graphite pencils.

You should definitely check out the song, I like it very much^^
Thanks again!:rose:
